Barbara Rubin was part of a distinguished panel entitled “Reality TV: Understanding the Unique Issues.” The panel was part of a two-day program on Film, TV and New Media Law sponsored by CLE International at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in LA.

Mission to Guatemala
Barbara M. Rubin travelled to Guatemala as the guest of CARE and eWomenNetwork. The purpose of the trip was to encourage cultural and economic exchanges between American and Guatemalan business women.
Dose of Reality
Barbara M. Rubin and Jody Simon served as moderators at a seminar titled Surviving the Television Reality Game presented by the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel in association with PR&S. The panel addressed production challenges of reality shows. Jody Simon went on to moderate the same seminar in New York.
Advertising Roundtable
Arnold Peter participated in a roundtable dinner with top advertising executives featuring John Nogawski, President and COO of CBS Television Distribution and Trevor Kaufman, CEO of Schematic. Topics covered included: Are traditional media companies creating the best advertising platforms in the digital world? Are advertisers getting enough “bang for their buck” in both traditional and new media advertising channels? How effective are the new media channels and how can they be measured?
Ethical Debate
Arnold Peter moderated a panel on ethical concerns for in-house counsel at the 2007 National Asian Pacific Bar Association’s annual conference. Panellists included the general counsel of BBC America and senior counsel from the University of Southern California.
